Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer at Jai tech Ltd, on the Engineering team, your role will involve designing, developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining scalable and high-quality web and mobile applications that feature low latency.
Responsibilities
- Lead a team or teams that develops, tests, documents, and deploys high quality software into production, leading the delivery of solutions that are extensible and scalable
- Clarify requirements and assists with coding/story estimates
- Participate in the on-call rotation when needed to troubleshoot software issues
- Quickly identify when to troubleshoot or escalate when tasks or projects hit roadblocks, find a path forward in difficult situations
- Mitigate immediate risk, identify and resolve root causes
- Remove bottlenecks and makes technical and design approach trade-off decisions short term vs long-term
- Contribute to team planning and design discussions, building more expertise around design approaches, driving best practices and improving the speed of delivery
- Lead code reviews to provide constructive direction
- Proactively simplifies code and resolves team architecture deficiencies
- Impact software architecture, dependencies, performance, and business value
- Improve testability, operational excellence metrics, and team documentation
- Advise technology leaders, our product team, and other internal stakeholders to make technology decisions that grow and improve our products
- Mentor and coach other engineers and actively work to reduce onboarding burden of future team members
- Influence your team's adherence to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of our engineering strategy
- Develop a solid understanding of our industry, product, feature set and roadmap
- Remain current on the latest technologies and trends in software development
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience building Java based highly scalable and fault tolerant systems
- You understand a broad range of design approaches
- You are able to triage and debug system-wide production issues
- Demonstrated experience mentoring other engineers
- Able to effectively communicate complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences (engineers, technical leaders, marketing and operations teams, non-technical functional leaders)
- Familiar with Agile software product delivery and SCRUM methodology
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
- You have an agile mindset; able to embrace new initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Thrives in an entrepreneurial, hyper-growth environment where priorities evolve regularly and decisions are made quickly
- Team-first mentality, with a willingness to do what it takes to get the job done and a desire to strive for better

DevOps Engineer (Jobcode: Req20240802)
Overview
As a Staff Platform Engineer at Jai Tech Ltd, you are here to help build out our Engineering team. This role reports to our Director of Engineering Excellence and is responsible for defining, implementing, training, and executing against our engineering strategy, creating processes, and building tools. The Staff Engineer will have a broad scope of engagement with cloud technologies, site reliability practices, and CI/CD tooling.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain a scaleable release pipeline that aligns with GitOps principles.
- Work on observability systems that enable holistic system monitoring and drive down incident response and resolution times.
- Create tooling that empowers developers to focus on value-added activities and product differentiation.
- Solicit and incorporate internal user feedback to ensure productivity tooling meets the needs of our developers.
- Evangelize internal products and tooling to drive adoption within the organization.
- Be part of an incident management team that ensures the high availability of the platform.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, inside and outside of Engineering, and collaborate with leaders to gather and present testing metrics and activities.
- Provide leadership and technical expertise within the engineering team. Be a mentor and role model for Engineering.
- Help development teams adhere to the principles, guidelines, and best practices of the engineering strategy.
- Gather and present testing metrics and activities to key stakeholders.
- Remain current on technology and trends in engineering.
Qualifications
- Application development experience (back end or front end).
- In-depth root cause analysis of low-level incidents spanning multiple connected systems.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Infrastructure As Code systems (Terraform, CloudFormation)
- Experience with observability tooling, chaos testing, and incident management.
- Experience implementing and maintaining mature CI/CD release pipelines.
- Ability to integrate 3rd-party systems into a cohesive development platform.
- Positive and flexible attitude to work in a fast-paced environment and a willingness to embrace new initiatives.
- Demonstrated ability to partner closely with engineering teams and implement appropriate tools and practices that balance quality with productivity.
- Highly outcome-oriented and data-driven.
- Excellent influencing and problem-resolution skills.
- Proficiency with Java preferred. Familiarity with Go, Python, and Kotlin are a bonus.
- Experience in a cloud-native environment preferred.
- Global experience preferred.

Senior Database Engineer (Jobcode: Req20240801)
As a Senior Database Engineer in Database Services Technology team, you will provide the glue that connects technology strategy and solution delivery. You will help clarify key strategic decisions and handle follow-through to ensure they are appropriately reflected in our technical solutions. Planning, execution, and communication are key traits of this role.
Responsibilities
- Helping articulate and govern published priorities, identifying integration points and detailing key decisions
- Partnering closely between various tech stakeholders to coordinate priorities, dependencies, and decision points
- Supporting planning to drive coordinated outcomes and ensure follow-through via clear and open communications
- Leading alignment discussions with leaders, technical partners and capability owners to ensure common understanding and next steps are understood across teams
Qualifications - 5+ years of experience with database technologies that support OLTP (like Oracle & Postgres), reporting and analytical workloads (like Snowflake)
- Experience working with databases running on cloud platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP (AWS preferred)
- Strong planning and project management skills. Detail oriented and effective at documenting key requirements and coordinating results and progress
- Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills that enable you to engage cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
- Familiarity with Agile processes & tools, including significant story-writing skills
- Facilitate program level ceremonies like Scrum of Scrum, Big room planning, Release planning, Meta Scrum etc., while ensuring refinement of the backlog and coaching the team to practice agile principles
- You utilize a data-driven approach for decision making, both in day-to-day leadership and strategic tradeoff analyses
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or closely related)
