Responsibilities

Lead development teams in designing, testing, documenting, and deploying high-quality software solutions that are scalable and extensible.

Clarify requirements and assist with coding/story estimates to ensure efficient project execution.

Participate in on-call rotations to troubleshoot and resolve software issues when required.

Identify and mitigate immediate risks, ensuring root causes are properly diagnosed and resolved.

Remove bottlenecks and make strategic technical and design trade-offs for short-term and long-term impact.

Contribute to team planning and design discussions, advocating for best practices and process improvements to accelerate delivery speed.

Conduct code reviews, providing constructive feedback to improve team standards.

Simplify code, resolve architectural deficiencies, and improve software architecture, dependencies, and overall performance.

Enhance testability, operational excellence metrics, and team documentation.

Collaborate with technology leaders, product teams, and internal stakeholders to drive technological decisions that improve our products.

Mentor and coach engineers, reducing onboarding burden for new team members.

Ensure team adherence to engineering best practices, principles, and guidelines.

Develop a deep understanding of our industry, product, features, and roadmap.

Stay updated on the latest technologies and trends in software development.

Required Qualifications

5+ years of experience building highly scalable, fault-tolerant Java-based systems.

Strong understanding of a broad range of design approaches.

Proven ability to triage and debug complex, system-wide production issues.

Experience mentoring engineers and fostering a culture of technical excellence.

Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Familiarity with Agile and SCRUM methodologies.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Agile mindset—comfortable adapting to fast-paced environments and new initiatives.

Experience working in entrepreneurial and hyper-growth environments where priorities evolve rapidly.

Strong cross-functional collaboration skills within enterprise environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in a start-up environment.

1+ years of experience leading a development team.

Proficiency with Spring Boot framework.

Experience working with AWS cloud services.

Strong application development experience (backend or frontend).

Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation.

Experience with observability tooling, chaos testing, and incident management.

Hands-on experience in CI/CD pipeline implementation and maintenance.

Ability to integrate third-party systems into a cohesive development platform.

Positive and adaptable mindset, thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Strong ability to collaborate with engineering teams and implement effective tooling and practices.

Outcome-oriented and data-driven approach to problem-solving.

(Nice to have): Hands-on experience with Java-based test suites utilizing Selenium, Cucumber, and JUnit for testing web UI applications.

Strong expertise in Git + GitHub, CI/CD orchestration tools such as Jenkins, Travis, or CircleCI, and artifact management tools like Artifactory and Git/Stash.

Hands-on experience with automation scripting, script execution, and functional testing.

Proficiency in automated build and deployment processes and a strong understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD).

Knowledge of Cloud Computing and DevOps concepts, including CI/CD pipelines using Git and Jenkins.

A passion for excellence, innovation, and teamwork with a strong desire to learn and adapt continuously.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a closely related field).

4+ years of hands-on experience as an SDET, with a strong focus on automation frameworks and automation testing.

Proven experience working in Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Strong technical design and analytical skills.

Relevant certifications in automation, DevOps, or cloud technologies are a plus.
